This is episode one in the second series of Northside Focus which showcases community events that happen on the Northside of Dublin alongside sports and hobbies which bring people together in their local communities. It is a community media project and was made with the assistance of Neartv Volunteers. In the first part we meet Stuart Bobbett one of Neartv's volunteers who went along to a 'walk and talk' event which was held by Dublin City Council and showed us an enjoyable way to learn about local Dublin History. The next piece visits St Anne's Park in Raheny where there is a thriving community of people involved in model car racing. ORCA (On Road Circuit Association) here in North Dublin has numerous members who compete internationally at the sport as well as people who enjoy the sport as a hobby. We went down to St Anne Park in Raheny meet some of the people involved. In the third piece in episode one we meet Eibhlin Byrne who has been a member of Fingal North Dublin Beekeepers association for a number of years and gives us an insight into beekeeping. And the final part of this programme brings us to Heritage week in North Dublin. As part of Heritage Week the building Casino Marino opened it's doors to the public and put on various events. We went along to get an understanding of some of the history of the building and to see some of the different ways the curators make this history come alive for the public. This programmes has been supported through Sound and Vision, the Broadcasting Commission of Ireland
